Kinetico Sponsors Relay Cyclists in Race Across America for Important Water Cause

In 2010, Katie Spotz became the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean and raised more than $100,000 to provide clean drinking water to those in need. Kinetico Incorporated was a sponsor of Katie's row and cheered her on to the finish. Most recently, Katie joined the Kinetico team as a marketing representative and has been traveling to various communities to share the story of her row and to communicate the importance of safe, clean drinking water.

Kinetico is pleased to sponsor Katie again as she participates in her next great adventure on June 18th: a 3,000 mile bicycle race called Race Across America (RAAM). Katie and her partner, Sam Williams, are a two-person team who will take turns biking, day and night, 24 hours a day until they cross the finish line in Annapolis, MD. The purpose of taking on this challenge is to once again, raise awareness and funds for an im¬portant water cause.

Katie and Sam's ultimate goal is to raise $50,000 for Blue Planet Network (www.blueplanetnetwork.org) and fund a project to bring safe drinking water to communities in northern Kenya. This water will help these communities grow crops and support their livestock so they do not have to rely on food aid to survive.
